      Pros

      There are the best reasons to work at Xilinx. The top three reasons include the fact that there are good people in the company despite the layoffs and changes. The layoff was good in cleaning up overhead but there were also some key people that were layed off as a result. The drive to work is a great commute (reverse commute from valley). The Xilinx product offering remains innovative and creative although the competition is increasing.

      Pros

      The management attitude towards work life balance is great. It is very unusual for the Silicon Valley.

      Cons

      Job offers tend to be less than other companies in the same field and the 401K contributions by the company are really low. The company tends to attract people who are more interested in work life balance than in working with the most talented engineers. Of course there are some really bright people there, but they only tend to stay if they have families or want to have a more flexible schedule.
