There is no job security. Employees are scared and demotivated. What makes things worst is the constant "we are concerned about the high attrition rate" we hear from management while they are planning more layoffs.
Upper and middle managers are hiding from employees. Their on-line calendars are hidden from the rest of us. I guess they don't want to be tracked down. All of us were told that the future growth is in Asia because of cost savings. There is very little top to bottom communication. I think I have seen our new CEO only once since he came here.
The tools and processes are constantly updating in the middle of a project. A lot of time is wasted trying to figure out how to do something that only took a few minutes before.
The managers are so worthless, that they even stopped trying to appear being smart.
They disallowed the tuition reimbursement for MBA programs. Obviously they don't want employees to get smarter so they could challenge their managers. Obviously, it is about their job security because they donâ??t want any competition.
Additionally the level of arrogance is just unbelievable. Any new product or features from our competitors are laughed out loud. However after few months, the panic sets in, and they try to figure out how to match those features.
The organization is top heavy, and they make the rest of our lives intolerable by subjecting us to unfair performance reviews. They may think that we are stupid and blind, but we see that the review is being used to make sure that we don't get any bonuses or pay increases.
The organizational structure is out of whack! A manager can be in a different geographical location, while most of his reports are here in San Jose.
