An amazing company that has gone downhill

Pros

The benefits were some of the best: flexible work hours, remote work policy, bi-weekly catered lunches, 100% health insurance premium paid by the company, and discretionary/unlimited PTO.

Cons

The company had a focused mission when I joined, but over the last several months, transparency has degraded. The financial status of the company seems to be brushed under a rug and only visible to the top level executives and investors. If the company is not doing well, everyone should have the right to know.

Pros

A young start-up, Xpansiv is a rapidly growing, employee-oriented company. The driving goal of our business platform addresses one of the most pressing global issues of the day, which is both inspiring and extremely satisfying. Also, major market players have signed on, signaling solid confidence in the company's growth potential. I work on one of the technical teams. My colleagues are sharp, goal-oriented people who work well together. From what I've seen, all of the teams show the same level of professionalism and mission focus. My managers are highly competent, forward looking, caring and supportive. I mean, the level of competence and technical knowledge of management is truly cray cray! Work loads are generally reasonable and fair. What's more, our technical teams are unusually diverse for a such a young company. I feel appreciated and respected. Indeed, it's a joy to work here, and extremely gratifying to apply my hard-earned skill set to solve interesting, highly relevant problems. The company is unusually accommodating, and both HR and management consistently promote a cohesive family culture. The level of attention to work-life balance and employee satisfaction is higher than any company I've worked for. The work environment is casual, with many employee perks (on-prem work-out room, hot yoga room, meditation cushions, fully stocked fridge, draft beer and kombucha, unassigned standing desks available to anyone, privacy rooms, biweekly catered lunches). Great benefits, including excellent salaries, incentive stock options, top-notch health plan, flexible schedules and unlimited PTO. Working from home is freely supported, and there are no limits on remote work as long as you are accessible and productive. Opportunities for training and capacity building are basically unlimited, if directly pertinent to your work.

Cons

The company is still really young, so some policies, such as career advancement paths, are still being worked out. But the company is making great strides toward becoming a stellar place to work on all fronts.
