A good company that is putting the future at risk for short term profit improvment
Pros
ITT Fluid Technology serves broad markets with a broad product line - pumps for water. The company has been successful over the years and has well known brands, good market share and strong distribution partners. The company is working on many of the right things, e.g. improving customer service, reducing costs, getting more done in new product development, etc.
Cons
The company has a history of great brands, but is now living off of the legacy. Not enough investment in new product development and customer service puts the future of the business at risk. I am afraid that someone in the future will look back and wonder how the company lost its market position. The focus on increased profits is driving innovation and customer service out of the business.
