Pros

It feels really good to help other people, so interacting with clients was always a joy. Their family homeless shelter is one of the better options for struggling folks in the area.

Cons

The internal culture does NOT match their mission. Many upper level management are abusive to their staff and incompetent in their own position. They rely heavily on the underlings and take credit for their work.

Pros

Loved the participants that I worked with. When you see a woman that comes in that is broken and you can help her whole world change that is the best feeling in the world.

Cons

Most of the people that work there do not see just how much help the participants really need to start over. How hard life is when you have nothing at all, when you leave an abusive situation you do not even know who you are anymore.

Pros

- Immediate team was great to work with. - There were a lot of areas to work on as improvement was direly needed.

Cons

- Everyone that has left considers themselves victims with PTSD. They manipulate you and play mind games with you that are awful. - Upper management is clique-y as if it were high school. - Their proposed values "empowering women, eliminating racism" don't translate in the workplace as their is rampant sexism and racism abound. - Such high turnover - people leave and management says nothing about it. No announcement, just people disappearing. - Just don't. Look elsewhere.
