Pros

Great co-workers, friendly environment, good benefits. Very pleasant on a daily basis.

Cons

You're part of a huge machine, with no feeling of control. Products are developed at a glacial pace, and engineers have little to no input. It's extremely hard to get a new idea out the door. There's a high level of boredom and tedium, because everyone is just expected to keep turning the crank on the same projects over and over.

Pros

Management really takes care of the employee base. It's a great place to work. 500 million people use the products we develop, which is cool.

Cons

Microsoft fiasco. Google obsession. Lack of strategy to break out of the cycle. As an engineer, it seems like projects could move faster. We get bogged down in process. Startups with far fewer resources beat us to the punch all the time. Sometimes I'd like to just launch the darn thing and not be so careful.

High performance culture. Merit-based. It's a very fun place to work though. Enormous opportunity for career development in both depth and breadth. I feel very proud to be part of a company the is striving to the best.

Cons

-There is a lot of stress here. -It's no longer always a "startup" feel.
