Pros

There are a lot of career development opportunities. The Pharmacology department is very interested in scientific developments and most of the PI are open about various career paths other than academia. There is also a lot of collaboration so it is a very good place for scientific development.

Cons

Fighting the bureaucratic network is a nightmare. You are actually punished when you get a fellowship as Yale will no longer pay for your healthcare, you have to pay the entire premium. The is often a disconnect between the Yale HR and the departmental HRs making salary or title changes a difficult transition.
