      The HR function at Yale University is extremely dysfunctional and lacks good leadership.

      Pros

      Prestigious Ivy League University with cutting edge research facilities, a beautiful campus and a wide variety of social activities available.

      Cons

      Opportunities for advancement are often influenced by cronyism and preferential treatment, as opposed to a more objective evaluation of an individual's ability to perform effectively in a role. There is very ineffective management and leadership within many of the departments throughout the University, as people are hired into these roles or promoted without having the requisite managerial skills needed in order to be successful.

      Slow moving, bureaucratic. Division between staff and faculty.
