Pros

The pay is decent, some good supervisors but most senior managers are dicks.

Cons

Senior managers are snobs that generally hire their family. If you're not a part of the boyband click then forget about moving up!

Pros

Far more pros now than five years ago. Pathways conversion is on average much faster. Where it used to be a good 3 - 5 years to transfer to Nissan, I've seen people get converted after just the advertised 18 months. 2 years seems typical now. The workload is as light or as heavy as current auto market trends dictate. The overtime- whenever there actually is any available -is never mandatory. When the line stops, you are often given the option to stay and push a broom for the remainder of your shift time, if you need the hours. Job rotation means less repetitive motion pain and fewer injuries. On-site health coaches are available and will come to your area on-line to help and assess your needs. Plenty of opportunity exists to move up if you have leadership skills and are actually a likeable person. There have been complaints about "good ol' boy" culture at Nissan and Yates Services, but I really have seen little evidence of this. Leads, supervisors, and managers are of all races, shapes, sizes, and walks of life. Be personable, be a leader, and look for ways to benefit the company and save time, and you will move up.

Cons

Depending on your area (which is chosen by management, naturally), the workload can be very demanding. You will go home with a lot of achey muscles and joints. Repetitive motion injuries are a big problem, but this is expected in this industry and not unique to Nissan.
