Pros

It was an amazing place to learn and grow

Cons

Sometimes, it was hard to "turn off" email - and I would feel pressure to monitor when I was off hours. The company encouraged wellness and boundaries- but I struggled to implement them for myself sometimes.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. We take pride in creating spaces for wellness, such as offering professional development funds and encouraging taking advantage of vacation and other PTO opportunities, because we know how important it is to have support in finding work-life balance. If you have any additional feedback, or thoughts on how wellness and boundary establishment could be supported further, please email us at feedback@yearup.org. Thank you!

Pros

They support a beautiful mission to close the opportunity divide. Pouring into the scholars is extremely fulfilling and rewarding

Cons

Lack of effective leadership and structure created a leak and caused a sinking ship.

Pros

Very nice staff, good culture, tons of free benefits for students

Cons

Not transparent around intern placement Not transparent around pay, until last week Not transparent around schedule until after orientation Out of touch with job market needs TON of bloat classes that are not necessary/redundant - e.g. CDIR classes, Internship Readiness classes, Kickoff/Forum having tons of overlapping content Tone deaf towards genuine concerns about instructors / iffy courses
