Pros

Training isn't just with your manager or your team. You get a clear understanding of each department, the product, industry, how to use the full tech stack, and your specific role. Training is about 5 weeks, they give you small assignments to make sure you feel confident and prepared to get the job done. Overall the level of transparency and communication throughout the organization has been the most impressive.

Cons

That I haven't been able to check out the incredible workspace they have due to covid.

Pros

Very well-structured training program. Everyone in the company goes through tons of training, which ensures that everybody is on the same page and no one gets left behind. Training includes company culture and insurance benefits, to overview of high-level functions at other departments, to intensive sql, python, statistics, finance training. I got 40 something calendar invites on my first day of work for training schedule in the following 3 weeks. If you are someone who likes predictability or are in the early stage of your career, this is the perfect place for you. Ownership. Company founders emphasize that after they equip you with the tools you need to succeed during training, then it is completely up to you to innovate, find new things to work on and find new ways to work on existing functions. This has manifested frequently where I've seen people not having to go through managers if they think their way of doing things is better and more efficient, or after working in certain department (e.g. data product) transitioning to other capacities (sales, engineering, research, etc.) Communication. Company has a rigid set of standards in terms of communication, that ultimately promotes transparency and is also a good skill to have in general. For example, how you should use slack, bcc, cc, what kind of labels you should use when referring to pre-defined terms, how to loop in other departments in a conversation, etc. This increases transparency and helps teach you professional communications skill which is very valuable. Transparency. Employees get briefed on highly confidential matters and are provided very detailed explanations on executive decisions, which shows that the company treats employees seriously and as partners. Perks. All of the good stuff, snack, beverages, swags, etc. which everybody loves!

Cons

Company has grown very quickly in the last few years, so everybody is sort of getting to know each other. This could be a good thing because there's no clique or office politics. I'm sure opportunities to socialize are in the pipeline but it's just a natural result of the fast-growing business.

Pros

Amazing people - I have never worked with a smarter group of people. Period. I feel so privileged to learn and tackle problems with them on a daily basis, especially since we have such an amazing culture of selflessness & self-improvement. Work culture - I can't say enough about how grateful I am for how much control & ownership I have over my workflow. There are obviously times when your team has to meet deadlines, but, for the most part, I feel complete control over when I go to work (varies a lot from 7am to noon), how long I stay at work, whether I work in the office or at home, and whether I go to work at all. Our culture of valuing impact and actively not attributing value to traditional proxies like facetime is a game changer. I feel not just able but *encouraged* to live & work as I want - to figure out for myself what days/hours are ones I can push harder and which are ones I need to use to recharge or step out for a change of pace. Great work environment - I'm one of those people who needs an inspiring environment to work well & to be happy. Our office is beautiful - there's plenty of natural light & plants everywhere. Since we have the whole floor, we have two huge walls of windows - my favorite days are the snowy ones when I can set up my laptop by the windows. We also have not 1 but 2 kitchens - one with snacks/fruit/fridge and the other with all kinds of coffee (espresso machine, regular drip, & cold brew on tap). Leadership - The management team is great with communication. We have company wide Q&A sessions all the time, weekly one-on-ones with our managers, weekly/monthly one-on-one meetings with the VPs, and rotating one-on-ones with the founders.

Cons

Pressure - We are an ambitious bunch, which means we can end up pushing ourselves to our limits. There are definitely times when I've felt overwhelmed & it can get exhausting. (This is when I'd take a couple days off, thank you open vacation policy - work hard, play hard.)
