Pros

35 hour work week, working with non-profits, professional support system at YPTC, benefits, PTO including sick starts at 4 weeks and training opportunities.

Cons

Messy client situations, managing several clients, don't get to see YPTC employees that often (But client employees are great).

We are constantly working to create opportunities for our staff to get together. Additionally, regarding commute, we do consider that when assigning staff to new clients -and always will. It's easier to do that when we have more than one staff member with available time from which we can choose! Thanks for the great comments! We are so fortunate to have you!

I love this job!

Pros

Flexible scheduling, generous paid time off, competitive salary. YPTC provides ongoing training and professional development. The staff has a wide variety of talents and specialties, so there is usually someone with experience who can help when you come across something new. Getting to go to a different workplace each day provides variety and experience in many different types of organizations. Doing what I love when it also helps an organization to better serve their mission is a great feeling!

Cons

Getting to see my work friends only periodically. Starting a new client is similar to starting a new job, when you have to get to know a new environment, people, establish your work area, etc.

You hit the nail right on the head - flexibility is a major part of who we are! We are flexible with our staff, and they're flexible with us and our clients in return. Additionally, we strive to create opportunities to get our staff members to connect with one another - and will continue to do so. Keep us posted if you have any ideas how to improve that. Thanks for the comments!

My 15 years at YPTC.

Pros

The variety of non-profit clients along with the accounting situations encountered have made my 15 years fly by! It has been great in helping me achieve my desired work-life balance. I have been able to be there for my family, whether they wanted me there or not. I have always been treated like a professional by my employer and my clients.

Cons

Scheduling the work for the various clients so they all can get what they need on a timely basis can be a challenge, but it does get worked out.
