Military Experience - A Preferred Requirement
Pros
Minimal to no politics working in/with the lower levels ((worker bees) ie. engineers, tech writers, production teams, provisioners, project/program support personnel); much more commeradery.
Cons
The same Job Classifications/Titles have different job responsabilities/requirements under different Management Teams. Working for one Team with few duties assigned vs. working on another Team with many duties assigned, pay is still the same unless you get promoted. Some job reqs. state "addtional duties as assigned". (So if you get the job, make sure the compensation you receive is not just for answering the phones, but that you also get addtional compensation INCASE you are also assigned to scrub the toilets) Managerial promotions are granted based on politics/favortism and military background, not on knowledge of company operating procedures, work performance or senority.
