Pros

- very smart and driven people - good place to build basic consulting skills (technical) and rigor

Cons

- reducing reputation of the firm in-front of the clients because the mid-management levels of organization are responsible for delivering as well as selling projects, which often leads to a conflict of interests. Managers sell work just to meet their quotas, regardless of whether the work is good for long term client interests or not - high cost pressures lead managers to undersell work, and then put pressures on employees to perform high workload with fewer hours billed towards the project budget - adhoc staffing processes: managers estimate man-hours required for a project by pure guesswork. resource staffing is headed across multiple offices by a single part time employee - work is focused in niche areas - leading to poor exit options, most of the times the employees struggle with situations that are only marginally relevant to a small set of people - multi-project staffing (usually 3-4, even at lower levels of the organization) - no transparency in the review process (they recently changed the process, making it more and more blackbox) - very limited mobility allowed between functional areas - the company seems to have lost sense of direction. it is getting more into IT to gain revenues (IT projects generally range in millions). it is high risk as margins are razor thin and the market is dominated by large outsourcing firms that have more experience, resources and war chest to win this game

Pros

I'll update this if i can think of anything

Cons

The firm won't think about you. Don't get fooled by the management when they say this is for your growth and success. It's all about how they can make more profit by keeping staffing minimum. You will be hired based on your skills and expertise but forget about using those coz you will be staffed randomly on any project requiring any random skill set which you may have never heard of. The leadership will give discount to clients to get the project and then reduce the hours of the team members on paper to make the required profit. Consequence of this - the effort on the project has not reduced, only your hours on paper has reduced. As a result you will get staffed on other projects for the remaining hours and you will end up working 60 70 hours a week. Dont make the mistake of raising this concern to the management coz you will hear a constant echo of "thats how things are done here" and congratulations you have also earned a title of a person who is not flexible. You will have meetings at night with India teams and morning meetings with client. Forget about those personal goals. Just focus on work for the next year or so coz eventually you will quit or become a robot who has no personal life. There are small firms or rather gangs within this 1 big firm and if you cant make yourself a part of any gang then dont think about surviving here. How can you become a part of the gang, agree to their terms and conditions unconditionally so just become a yes man

Pros

Only major upside is your professional development, enabling you to move to a less toxic environment after. You will get a broad exposure to pharma and opportunities in industry while at ZS. Remaining minor pros: -Working in modern offices -Good health-insurance -Working with other less-fortunate bright junior US peers

Cons

ZS is run by rotten dishonest management which treats junior and off-shore employees as replaceable cogs. The business model in place often leads to teams churning out garbage work for their clients. With over 80% of its employees now in India, this is a Tier 4 consulting firm on par with Tata, Wipro, Cognizant and others. Other major cons: -Most from associate through manager level are extremely stressed-out and have no work-life balance -Uncompetitive total compensation package, not overall or for hours worked -Title deflation compared to other consulting firms hurts future job prospects -Slow promotion cycles despite more levels than other consulting firms -Excessively high firm turnover, officially 25% of junior US peers leave annually -Non-US natives often especially mistreated due to their visa situation -ZS newcomers often get projects and clients no one wants -Many are given little autonomy even if they are experienced hires -Management not flexible with personal needs (limited WFH) nor invested in junior staff development -Expect to travel much more to distant clients than promised -Expect to manage significantly less competent individuals remotely on a daily basis and direct them with late night emails -Majority of US peers and effective company culture are Indian -ZS is just not a dynamic firm, resistant to change, and behind on the technical curve Carefully consider other US-based reviews before joining this toxic mess.
