Slavedriver.com, HORRID MANAGERS, I can't stress enough, the word "HORRID"

Pros

The benefits are very good compared to other places I have worked, but thats literally the best part, the rest of the company says they care about your well being, work/life balance, etc, but do not show it, specifically in the network operations center.

Cons

Lets see where to start, getting yelled at and disrespected on a regular basis from management-not privately, but out in the open, in front of everyone, being micromanaged, horrible training, they just throw you in the shark tank and expect you to swim without showing you correctly how to do everything. The place is is a hostile work environment lawsuit waiting to happen, not from the employees, but from management.

It is my expectation that all members of our management team are leaders and professional. When feedback and coaching is necessary, it should take place privately. If an employee isn’t able to resolve issues with their supervisor, I encourage them to escalate these issues privately. As the leader of the award-winning Network Control Center (NCC), I have an open door policy and am available to every employee to discuss an issue in confidence and work toward a constructive solution. The same is true for our People Operations partners, one of which is full time at the NCC and the others all always accessible via Chatter, phone or email. I’d suggest these are reasonable steps to take to solve an issue before making inflammatory accusations about the competence and integrity of all Zayo management and suggesting that we don’t care. We do. When employees raise issues, as you have, we also expect that they initiate and support solutions. For example, NCC employees have raised issues about the need for onboarding and training, and are now actively involved in its design and rollout. In terms of the work-life balance issues you raise, the NCC continues to invest in automation, which will enable our teams to work efficiently and across fewer systems – and provide more responsive service to customers. It seems like the environment at Zayo, which does require flexibility and initiative, may not be the right fit for you. If that’s the case, I wish you the best of luck with your next company.

Pros

NONE. David Howson is an absolute joke and ruined their sales momentum. Dan is just as clueless! Matt Erickson is a great Sr. Level Executive and should be the CEO.

Cons

They so want to be Level 3, they followed a Level 3 sales program, which Level 3 realized did not work! It did not work for Zayo either! They will love to turn sales and management over versus keeping their talent there! They took Sales Force to a different level of use!

Pros

Do you like drama? Have very little family/social life? Enjoy loooooong stretches of 4+ years of 70-80 hour weeks with nary as much as a 2% COL increase?

Cons

This place is wonderful, if you don't mind sexism, mysogeny, violations of FMLA / FLSA / OSHA, threats from Sr. Mgmt, being forced to ballot-stuff glassdoor reviews every few weeks so management can sucker a few more college kids into slaving away for beans. OT? Zayo would rather wait till you get home, insist you jump on a conference bridge, then not pay you for any of it. They consider not paying nonexempt employees deserved OT to be a "service to the shareholders". I saw the Director of the NCC roll into the NOC and proudly call out "where are the white women?!?". When a formal complaint was filed, guess who had all his direct reports taken away, had his schedule immediately changed to graveyard, and found himself doing secretarial work? If you guessed "the director", you guessed wrong. IT WAS THE MANAGER OF THE YOUNG LADY WHO FILED THE COMPLAINT!!!! Shady organization that maintains power by lying, backbiting, threatening, and promoting a culture of fear of saying ANYTHING, lest you get fired, sued, or both. They have even pretended some employees never worked there, or held lower positions, when asked by interviewing managers at other companies. If you have a problem with your employer laughing about FLSA laws, firing people on FMLA leave, or crapping on sexual harassment statutes...well, you're just not "Zayo Material", right Dan?

Although not the best forum for a discussion of legal claims or potential legal claims, it is important to state that we strongly disagree with the poster's allegations. Zayo takes very seriously its commitments to employees as well as it legal and regulatory obligations. To the extent that a claim is raised, Zayo promptly and thoroughly investigates such claims and takes remedial action, if appropriate under our policies and based upon the circumstances. The allegations contained in this post appear to be mostly identical to allegations previously raised by a particular individual within Zayo, and these allegations were thoroughly investigated and resolved. We will continue to comply with all employment laws and regulations and take aggressive actions to ensure we have a safe, fair and compliant workplace
