Great Company with bad Tech

Pros

Zenith has good historical track record and continues to grow. With all my listed cons, I still want to work here and I would recommend it for the pay/benefits/no mandatory OT.

Cons

The technological side of Zenith is very outdated. The company won't let anyone under supervisor level position maintain their own computer desktop so you are constantly wasting time going out and searching drives/folders and having stressors all day trying to do things quickly. You cannot set your own default programs, so again, every single day you have to set defaults for the day, wasting time and increasing stress. There are constant system disruptions. Under staffed. Follow-through from management is a zero because of the understaffing. The company is a fire at will and they will.

Decent pay and okay benefits

Pros

Managers mostly good to work with. They don’t breathe down your neck. Pay is okay Co-workers are nice Health benefits partially paid 401k Paid holidays

Cons

They have been closing down offices all over the country. Some workers get to work from home but others then have to still go into the office. Usually that other office is further away than the office they were working at. Zenith doesn’t care that you may have to drive further. They are too large a company to actually care about employees. If you are salary, they work you a lot and keep adding more and more to your plate. So many people have left because they got too busy, too many clients and couldn’t handle it all. When people leave the company they are normally not replaced. Vacation /PTO time is low unless you are Union or salary. Most salary people are too busy to use their PTO.

stability (at least in the areas I have worked in). Nice culture - nice people

Cons

Pay falls behind inflation for many many years. Upper management seems out of touch. My supervisor has too many people to supervise. Some inappropriate outsourcing (India)
