Cons

Unrealistic workload expectations: I was assigned six client accounts, all of which were treated as high priority. During my final interview, I was told I would manage a maximum of four accounts, so the actual workload was significantly higher than what was communicated during the hiring process. Poor management support: Some supervisors had a "figure it out yourself" mentality and discouraged employees from asking questions. In a recent 1:1, I was explicitly told not to ask questions moving forward and to solve issues on my own before seeking guidance. This created a culture where employees felt hesitant to reach out for help and negatively impacted collaboration and professional development. Unprofessional feedback and communication: Feedback was often delivered in a dismissive or overly harsh manner. For example, my team and I received feedback on a presentation deck that was simply described as "sloppy" without constructive guidance on how to improve it. Instead of offering feedback, they would ask "Why did you do XYZ". This approach made feedback feel more critical than helpful. Escalation instead of direct communication: When concerns arose, my supervisor would often involve a higher-level manager in conversations rather than addressing issues directly with me first. Over time, this created unnecessary tension and made it more difficult to maintain a productive working relationship. Eventually, communication became so strained that there were instances where concerns were not discussed directly at all. Lack of constructive leadership: Rather than working with employees to identify solutions, leadership often focused on assigning blame when problems arose. This approach made it difficult to address challenges effectively and contributed to a negative work environment.
