      Beware of StreetEasy

      Pay, benefits, DTO, stocks (although they're not worth much anymore)

      Cons

      StreetEasy Engineering's upper management and leadership is staggeringly inept and unethical. They have cultivated a toxic and hostile culture exactly at odds with their supposed corporate principles where dissent is not tolerated, where underlings are blamed for their boss's failures, and where loyalty is rewarded over merit.

      Everything is fine until you meet the payplan

      Pros

      Zillow is great and they hire a lot of top talent.

      Cons

      However they vary the pay plan too much for this rule. Changing the sales goal post is just rude. When they say people make $100k in this role, like nobody is there. One of my friends whos top 10 in the company is only at $110k this year. Kinda dumb tbh. A lot of smoke and mirrors at this shop.

      - strong development culture - emphasis on inclusion and diversity - good balance of code quality and feature development - constantly pushing the business forward, never resting on laurels - high emphasis on work life balance - good snacks - tight team culture - excellent communication from upper/middle management to individual contributors

      - constant change can be a little tiring

      Thank you for your comments and strong engagement in our Vancouver office. Vancouver is one of our smaller engineering centers, but very important work is focused here. We are proud of our strong development culture and our work on equity and belonging, among other accomplishments and programs. Appreciate your efforts to support these programs. We do have a lot going on at the company, and your comments on change and communication challenges are heard. If you have ideas on how we could improve please discuss further with Jon and me. I believe the team is settling in nicely with the important projects they are driving with our teams in Seattle and Irvine.
