      Pros

      The working environment is the number #1 reason to work for Zillow. Common areas and stocked kitchens are a close #2. The work hard, play hard mentality of this company as a whole is like none that I have ever seen (This is my first time working for an internet company). We work some long hours, for sometime weeks in a row. The company provides dinner for teams that stay late hours, and there are great parties after great successes. Zillow employees, are very well taken care of.

      Cons

      distance from home, is the only downside for me, in working for Zillow.

      Pros

      My co-workers are great - very smart, energetic people. We have very nice offices, with a great view, lots of snacks and games. And most importantly, we are working on a very exciting product, which I think many of us believe in.

      Cons

      Executive team does not show enough trust or respect for employees. We work very hard, long hours, and yet the compensation is below industry standards, and there is a very poor distribution of equity. I think a lot of people end up leaving because they don't feel vested enough in the company, with low option grants and lack of power to make decisions.

      Pros

      Culture - there is even a culture committee to ensure Zillow maintains a comfortable and fun work environment. As an employee, I was given ample opportunity to shine and mold my position into what I wanted it to be. Location and view can't be beat.

      Cons

      Since it's still in startup mode, compensation and benefits have some room to improve. I'd say that they are about average for the industry. But if you are considering working here, you are likely qualified to work at Microsoft, whose benefits can't be beat.
