Great Place to Retire, Lose Your Skillset and Die
Pros
Chuck's office You don't have to make the coffee and when the sewage line isn't broken you can drink it Office is beautiful, but you won't get the one the recruiter promised you If you're more talented than your leadership you won't have to talk to them because they will ghost you for the entirety of your stay AdWeek might feature your department work in an expose uncovering it's racist undertones Account services will have you do so much useless work that you'll totally lose the need to employ your expertise or talent - this can be a much needed sabbatical that prepares you for your next position You'll probably learn Spanish if you don't already know it Everyone will be just as miserable as you are If you're attractive and breathing you'll have a job for the rest of your life
Cons
Male leadership is held to a much different standard than female leadership Laughable levels of competitiveness exerted by people whose Instagram accounts are the most interesting thing about them Account services provides final creative say Creatives (to which I was not, in this role) are treated like hot garbage Positioning yourself as an expert far outweighs actually knowing anything The agency overall has lightyears to go before it ever conducts business as a grown up, digitally savvy shop
