Several of the reviews on this site in regards to Zimmerman are based on a non-creative position. I strongly urge creatives to hold off and look elsewhere. This company is more concerned about getting work out quickly and not really embracing the process. The environment does not aid in collaboration or any form of fun. (While I was working there, they held the first "company wide" event they had in years. Maybe 100 people showed up and we were offered ONE drink ticket and a cheese and cracker plate for the evening. If you work in advertising legitimately you know this is not a 'fun' environment) My CDs didn't work with us, they just had us come up with executions, let us share, and then kissed their own asses as they 'shared' with us their executions. We had no interaction with the client, or were given any actual feedback about what the client liked or didn't like. So there is no room to improve.
To top it off, in my own experience, I worked very well with a new coworker, and instead of helping to support that creative relationship, our creative directors decided that we shouldn't work together anymore. With no explanation.
Even their introduction process is a nearly bi-weekly dry series of lectures from each department, having nothing to do about getting to know anyone personally (seriously they don't even ask your name or care who they are speaking to. Just another one of these 'new employee on-boardings they have to do'). The fact that they have these series running continuously and the room always has at least 12 people in it will tell you the turn over rate at Zimmerman is high. Not to mention how often jobs are posted.
Again, please seriously consider picking up your life to take up a job here if you are coming from any other city. (And even though everyone else has said this, the pay is terrible.)
