Pros

If you need a job, this will teach you a lot about advertising in a short amount of time. Use this place as a stepping stone and do not expect long term growth. - There are some great people who work here, including some of the mid level management. If you are lucky you will end up on a team with a great manager. - You will learn a lot. - Freestyle Coke machine and a nice building

Cons

There is a very clear lack of respect for the employees at Zimmerman. - Compensation and benefits are not competitive in the slightest - There is no flexibility whatsoever, so if that is important to you, look elsewhere. - Someone standing at the door taking note of what time everyone walks in the building, and 9:01 is considered late. - Raises and promotions are being promised and then pushed back with no end in sight. You will be expected to perform at multiple levels above your position and pay, but Zimmerman will not keep their end of the bargain in ensuring your growth is a priority. (Promotion freezes do not apply to VP level employees) - Examples of Jordan's personal lack of respect: calling a company wide meeting an hour before start of business (8 am) and showing up at 8:50 just to announce he is cutting benefits. Laughing at the thought of a recession and boasting how he pays his employees the same starting wage that he made 50 years ago also come to mind. - Silly politics over parking and who gets a desk vs. a cubicle in an office that is getting emptier by the day. - You will be called a cog in the machine, and they mean it.

Pros

The office facilities are cool. And there are a lot of talented people in the mid- to lower-ranks who are joy to work with.

Cons

Like the headline says, ZADV is a lot like North Korea: Both are stuck in a time lock, a dinosaur struggling to survive in world that's passing them by, while their leadership continues to try to convince its people that its glorious past will just repeat itself at any time now. If you're not in the Supreme Leader's inner circle, or you haven't been anointed and blessed by the inner circle, you'll have almost no upward mobility. You're just the peasant class, destined to work hard (almost literally) 24/7 for mediocre pay, while getting no credit when things go well, and all the blame when they don't.
