Solid Job, Awful Benefits

Pros

The job itself is wonderful. It's a great opportunity to learn new things while utilizing current skill-set. There is room for growth within the position.

Cons

Management is sorely lacking. Direct supervisor doesn't put the needs of employees first. He is forgetful and pushes personnel issues back on the staff. Additionally, he plays games with merit increases. Says you're eligible for bonuses, increases - then conveniently forgets to put them through. There is no guideline on paper that states what you're eligible for - so no way to hold management accountable. Been here under two years and four people have left because of these games. Benefits are the worst I've ever seen. Their medical coverage is a joke - Aetna and Cigna plans are laughable. The vision is okay. The dental is awful, awful, horrible. It's set up on a 50% reimbursement - and they charge you $7-$12 just to have that "benefit". Additionally, if you try to use HSA funds to cover your half, you forfeit your dental benefits. My suggestion is to ask for a high salary - that's the only way to afford to survive.
