Zips is a company that only looks at the final dollar, and no other considerations are made. Working at the site that I work at, is falling apart inside and out. They have just now realized that we do not have the proper "emergency Stops" at our site when working in the tunnel. We only have what has been described as a "pause." This company only looks out for what is best for them, when asking for the needed things at our site they tell us that the budget is not available at this time (even though we are almost 2 months into the new year) and they have made stipulations to when the facility managers will be able to spend money on the site again.
We consistently have issues that customers come to let us know about and there is nothing that any employee onsite would be able to do to correct the issue. If you are to issue a rewash for anyone you are yelled at and told not to do that. On top of that there is nothing that is able to be done for memberships on site and when customers call and talk to customer service they tell them that they need to come to the site and correct the problem. If any changes are made on site they yell and let us know that we are to do nothing, that is customer services job.
Do not get me started on the membership commission plan, many different higher managers use this as the selling point to work for zips. Even though, the company themselves create so many different contingencies in order to receive the commission. They encourage not sharing all of the information about the membership, telling us to not inform customers that after the promotion that they signed up for, they will be charged anywhere from 15-35$ more the next month. After bringing up the way in which employees go about getting memberships (basically setting up memberships on the screen for people to just sign up without even knowing) higher management said that was a great idea and to continue getting the sells with that method. The corporate company does not look out for customers nor the employees.
After seeing the news about the loss of life at an Asheville, NC location due to issues with the emergency "brake" at the site, nothing has been done to update procedures and we were told that we are to stay later to complete the work that is needed to be completed. Instead of correcting the problem they change schedules, expectations that differ from the hiring of employees and then expect even if all work is completed to be on site until a specific time.
If you are a manager, they put so many different disqualifying factors to your "monthly bonus" that it is impossible to get. If you are at a site that does not have working equipment that could affect your bonus, good luck getting it. They will not complete work orders that need equipment purchased or services completed because they are not spending any money even though we are almost a whole month after the new year.
Do everything you can to stay away from this company as a customer and employee.
