Pros

Beginning worked as contractor 50/50 pay split of what clients signed up for whether all hours were used or not. Pay worked out to $16.00 and up an hour on average. Easily spoke with all levels of management without bureaucracy. Happy virtual work environment.

Cons

Zirtual changed to employees only. Most of the staff who hired, trained and mentored me were let go to make room for more expensive middle management. Employees were not paid by the hour which meant if you couldn't creatively persuade your assigned clients into actually using their "plan" hours you didn't get paid for those hours at all that month. Communication also was horrible. New rules/ processes were mass emailed one boss, confusingly implemented by employees then pulled by another boss. This happened often. New employees were brought in with much stricter rules. They lost the freedom of working around their home schedules to the point that the only real benefit received was not driving to work. Each time I see a new job posting the pay for new employees is less.

Pros

Zirtual REALLY wants to be a great place to work, and it's obvious that management is desperately trying to take care of employees while expanding rapidly at the same time. The work is often really interesting and some of the clients are a true joy. Zirtual puts a real effort into fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie amongst the ZAs, though sometimes their efforts backfire.

Cons

The company is experiencing a period of high growth and, not surprisingly, a lot of changes are being rolled out quickly. It can be tricky to juggle the administrative changes and heavy client load, while also trying to participate in the community. Handling all of this while getting paid so little has definitely tainted my experience. If this job paid a little more, I would definitely feel a little more satisfied after a long, busy day of constant, challenging work.

Pros

The freedom to work anywhere. The support staff actually support you if you ever need them. Great training. Great things for the future of this company.

Cons

The work can come in waves and sometimes you might feel overwhelmed, but Zirtual's model does the best it can to alleviate that.
