Pros
While one of Zirtual's core values is "Beautifully Simple", there is no simple way to sum up Zirtual.
To give a short backstory, at my previous job, I would work 50-60 hours a week. A job is like your second home. At that home, I was miserable, beyond stressed out, and felt about 2 inches tall. After 3 years of feeling worthless, I stumbled upon Zirtual.
Everyone at Zirtual from coworkers, managers, Executives, and all the departments in between have not only made me feel like a person worthy of happiness, but also a family member (in a sense). When I had a personal injury and couldn't walk, one of the co-founders himself called me to make sure I was ok. When I stated I would figure out a way to work from bed the next day (because hey, this is a virtual position!), he refused and insisted I take the next day off to focus on my health. I can't tell you the amount of times I worked previous places and worked til I literally passed out because my bosses refused to acknowledge my own well-being over their sales. Zirtual as a whole company makes you feel worthy. There is always an ear to listen when you are having a hard time, and they don't let you forget that.
Another positive is the amount of feedback given. Between training, management, and clients (not all clients though), I've received tons of feedback- something that was never given at previous jobs except for an annual review. How can you know if you're improving without feedback? You can't. Between the time I've started to this very minute, I know I've learned so much because I have proof from my peers and clients.
I truly could go on all day how Zirtual has been an amazing find for my career and life. To avoid dragging this out horribly further though, other pros are:
-Flexibility of where you want to work: Want to work at Starbucks? Do it. The comfort of your bed? Sure. Poolside in the Summer? Why not.
-Steady work schedule: Working full time, I know what I'm working today & in 6 months on a Tuesday. You want stability, this is it.
-Benefits: Health insurance, 401k, the basics. Other cool perks include being partnered with a company that offers coupons on things like rental cars, cell phone bill discounts, vacations discounts ( coupons for hotels, amusement parks), etc. The list is almost endless.
-Your job follows you: Army spouses, I'm talking to you especially. Wouldn't it be nice to not have to find a new job every time your spouse got relocated? Thought so.
-Bring your pet to work day is every day! Because who doesn't want to be able to cuddle up with their cat/dog/hamster/fish while they work?
-Human interaction exists: You have a team of people that you work and talk with each day. They're your pod. I've made closer and better connections with some of my podmates and other coworkers in a few months, than I ever did with previous coworkers over multiple years.
-Showers are optional: Yep. You read that right.
-Pants are also optional.
Cons
There are two cons that are small, but still cons.
1. Pay: Compared to a traditional personal/executive assistant, it's on the low end. However, factor in not driving 40 miles to and from work, not eating out for lunch, and all the really great benefits, it's not terrible. Still could be a little better though.
2. Shift flexibility: While I mentioned a stable shift is awesome since I know what I'm working each day, it'd be great if there was a little more flexibility during the day. If I wanted to take a longer lunch, I'd like to know I could make that up later, rather than trying to rush to and from a takeout restaurant within an hour.
