Pros

- Some decent perks and bennies - Excellent sales methodology training and development - *some* creative ways to incentivize performance or deal influence (with a catch) - Proven product, leader in the data brokerage space with great market fit

Cons

- Micromanagement to the nth degree - Good ol' boys frat house sales bro culture, abysmal gender equity - Insulting pay disparity between two people doing the same jobs - Some foolish reps running on a steady diet of Kool-Aid fed to them by ZI leadership - "Unlimited" PTO is actually "uncapped" but it is very limited. Little to no PTO granted towards the end of each month nor the ENTIRE MONTH of December. - One of those sales orgs will capriciously change your comp plan and from what I've witnessed will fight you tooth and nail to contort what they should pay you once you leave - Nothing in the tech stack works seamlessly and usually takes several days to fix once multiple people complain about the same issue. - Worst onboarding experience I've ever seen in several years in tech - Lack of fluidity in sales ops that creates obstacles rather than enables the ability to influence deals in a positive way, causes friction between reps - Lack of accountability from the lead gen team to properly qualify leads - Management often serves as a mouthpiece for the Scrooges up top, who lead from the rear, causing them to not only be disconnected but entirely self-serving. - Be ready to leave here with a brown nose and a knife in your back, culture encourages it - Sales leadership is scratching their heads how to incentivize their reps, at least in the segments I've been associated with, yet they throw so many of the above in, they just end up driving people into silos, discouraging group participation, and ultimately demotivate their reps

Hello, thanks for this feedback and your compliments about our product and training programs. From your review, I gather you are experiencing some frustration in your current position. My goal is for everyone in my org to find the right fit and reach their goals. Many of the concerns you voiced surprised me, as I have not heard them echoed in other corners of the New Sales group. If you feel comfortable with it, I would really like to chat about how we can work together to make this right and hear more about your concerns. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to fix everything – for example, our PTO black-out dates are pretty standard for the tech sales industry – but I’d like to address what I can. If you don’t feel comfortable coming to me, please do reach out to your HR Business Partner. As you know, our mantra is to get 1% every day. We can only improve with open and honest communication. Thanks again for bringing these topics to our attention. – Steven Bryerton, ZoomInfo Senior Vice President of New Sales

Pros

-Good money, great product to sell, clients are often great to work with -High Growth -Unlimited PTO

Cons

-Upper management is fine, direct management is EXTREMELY toxic. Doesn't give helpful feedback but it feels like direct management is trying to sabotage us -Multiple times had meetings with my direct manager before a demo and got railed which in turn negatively affected my performance in my Demo -They don't care about your mental health at all, say goodbye to days off before the end of the month -Bethesda team is SO toxic, they clearly are competing with the Boston team and put so much pressure on us -If you value your mental health in your workplace at all, I would not take a job at this company

Hi and thanks for taking the time to share your experience. I wanted to respond to this review because mental health is a topic that I take very seriously. I think as salespeople, we all experience certain emotional peaks and troughs that come with the job. However, the job should never jeopardize your mental wellbeing. At ZoomInfo, we have a competitive sales floor because we genuinely want to see all of our reps succeed, and we would never try to sabotage anyone – that would adversely impact the entire team and our results. I’m very sorry to hear that this is how you felt. I know that sometimes differences in communication styles can be a barrier to meaningful growth conversations, which is why we’re enrolling our sales managers in Leadership skills training, which covers constructive feedback and positive motivational techniques. We’re very conscious of our employees’ full well-being, including mental and emotional health. We have free Talkspace memberships for those enrolled in our benefits, and our Employee Assistance Program offers 24/7 phone support for all employees and their families, regardless of if they are enrolled in our benefits. Thank you again for taking the time to leave feedback, and I wish you all the best. – Patrick Valle, ZoomInfo Senior Director of Sales

Pros

The company has a great product. That’s where the accolades end.

Cons

The politics, the hypocrisy and the lack of compassion towards team members. For example, a VP was fired over Christmas and our team sat through countless meetings about changes but not once did they ever speak the former-VP’s name, announce to us that they were let go or offer any kind words about their time at the company. It was like they had disappeared that leader and pretended they never existed. That executive was replaced with a new leader with zero experience in the field. The general consensus among the team was that the C-suite hired someone who would follow directions, not push back. Once, we received an email from the CEO explaining that if we wanted to do well, we’d need to put in long hours. The whole email made it clear that he expected us to work outside of our 9-5 for success. It was framed as being a Red Sox player, not a Pirate. Little did we know, that would foreshadow a host of layoffs, all of which had no basis in performance. These layoffs were enacted after months of direct managers telling us not to worry about losing our jobs. The people let go ranged from directors to managers to individual contributors. The biggest reason for this review is the way those layoffs were handled. No one was told what was going on, the fact that this was a restructure was never mentioned to the people being fired. Now, months later, they are re-hiring for the same roles they terminated a few months back. Bottom-line: ZoomInfo does not care about it’s people, they care about getting what they need in the moment and moving on with no remorse once they change course. Don’t drink the KoolAid.
