Pros

At Zoominfo the pay is fairly good, especially when enriched with equity. Some of the workers (it's a fairly heterogeneous mix) are quite intelligent and fun to engage with.

Cons

The company is on a wild acquisition spree, and what it seems to do when it buys a company is create a department around it. In the case of the one I'm in, the teams are highly disorganized, seem to spend over half the time on bug fixes, and there's vast disarray in back-end systems (scatter in terms of tech stack because of lack of cohesion in skillsets, very poor quality legacy and new code, data problems left and right, etc.). There can also be political pushback against fixing the issues that already exist. As an overall company, it's also quite disorganized and with apparent intention to keep it that way, as they gobble up smaller companies at a fast pace.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on what it’s like to work at ZoomInfo. We pride ourselves on creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace for all colleagues. We’ve worked to increase the diversity of our employee population, and have also set diversity goals for our leadership to ensure our efforts continue to develop. We also have a comprehensive Compensation Equity program which ensures we are compensating our colleagues fairly across the board. ZoomInfo is certainly expanding. We have had two acquisitions so far this year, which have presented growing pains along the way. However, we are working hard to systemize and create processes across the company to help our colleagues stay organized and empowered to do their jobs. We are focused on building a complete go-to-market strategy for our customers, and tackling the challenges that present along the way through ingenuity, creativity, and hiring the best and brightest talent available in the market. We are taking your advice into consideration and thank you for your transparency. If you have any additional comments or questions, please contact hrfeedback@zoominfo.com. -The ZoomInfo Employee Experience Team

Pros

Great location. Great restaurants in the Vancouver area. The company has a great idea that in the right hands could be a great tool for several industries.

Cons

Ethically questionable practices and behavior from upper management leadership. They spend a little too much time belittling and berating employees and not enough time investing in the development of great employees. I have also seen them overuse employees off-hour time. If you want to work around the clock for elitist people who do not even like you, go to Discover Org. If you do not mind lying to companies to collect internal contact details then Discover Org is probably for you. If you value integrity and ethics and are looking for a place where hard work is appreciated and not abused, then keep looking.

Pros

They are constantly hiring new employees. Class leading product.

Cons

I must say that my experience with the company's leadership and culture was disappointing. The company's culture is centered around profit, and the CEO, Henry Schuck, seems more focused on building a personal fortune than creating a supportive work environment for his employees. This has resulted in a toxic work environment where employees feel undervalued and micromanaged, with a culture that resembles a "boiler room" rather than a modern, forward-thinking workplace. For example, the sales team is blocked out from taking any PTO in December. If leadership does not trust employees enough to take a day off during the Holidays, why should employees trust management to do the right thing in return? The sales team is encouraged to focus on aggressive sales tactics instead of delivering value to customers, which can lead to dissatisfied customers who feel taken advantage of. Moreover, when the company went public, rank and file employees were not granted shares or equity, which was extremely demotivating for hardworking employees who felt unrecognized and unrewarded for their contributions. Until there is a significant change in leadership and company culture, it is challenging to recommend them as an employer. They will pay lip service to changing and evolving, but leopards don't lose their spots. The culture here is rotten from the top down.

Hi. Thank you for taking the time to consider ZI and write a review for us. I am sorry you didn't have an ideal experience with us. I appreciate you do believe in the strength of our products at ZI. I did want to correct a few inaccuracies. Before IPO, 100% of employees were granted stock. Today, nearly 3 years later, most new hires (> 80%) are granted stock upon joining us. Also, we did implement an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) over a year ago with a 15% discounted purchase price on ZI stock. Our SVP of Talent Management has done a substantial of work with our teams to ensure we're establishing a culture of feedback. We implemented Qualtrics several months ago and now conduct many surveys to employees to capture employee voice and sentiment--such as to new hires, sometimes after a recent event, return-to-office, and other times that are more frequent than simply doing a survey annually. If you'd like to give any additional feedback, please feel free to contact me directly, I do think feedback is a gift, and I'd welcome any suggestions. Thanks again, Chad Chad Herring, CHRO, chad.herring@zoominfo.com
