Pros

There's very few products out there that are so advanced or incredible that nothing else matters to their success. Ultimately it's the people in the company who determine the success or failure of that company. My experience in working for both sides personifies what this because at DiscoverOrg there is a group who is collaborative, innovative, incredibly hardworking, and most of all not afraid to listen but also argue with each other for the greater good. Something that prior companies I've been at consistently failed doing time and time again. You could call it sour grapes, but numbers don't lie. DO started at the severe underdog eight years ago and has grown to be the #1 provider in the market more than doubling the revenue of their closest competitor. And It's the people at DiscoverOrg who've made this company what it is. Business isn't easy, especially when you're creating one of the fastest growing companies in the country. There's a ton of change every month, stakes are high, and a ton of pressure to perform. But if you want to be around some of the most talented people who you could put into almost any company and make it successful - then you want to be at DiscoverOrg.

Cons

My biggest gripe would be regarding our benefits for people with children.

Pros

PTO policy is top notch (In my opinion, how every company should be) Really Smart engineering team- one of the sharpest teams I've ever worked with. Management does their best to give exciting projects to work on. Great company outings and perks. Great people! I really grew a lot of relationships outside of office with team members.

Cons

Compensation is below industry averages. Projects are often rushed and don't allow for time to get them to higher quality- but I get it, it's agile methodology. Often the result is "we will fix it next release" but more often than not next release never happens unless something breaks or a customer complains about it. Employees don't really have a say in what department/team they work in- a lot of shifting and moving without consulting the employee on their thoughts/needs.

Pros

There are good people in every department with good intentions to make DiscoverOrg a true competitor in the marketplace.

Cons

The work environment is toxic and confusing. On one hand, you have nurturing and supportive leaders working to make sure you succeed. On the other hand, you have leadership who cannot see beyond the current fiscal month to make any foundational decisions that would truly impact the months and years ahead. Marketing and sales tactics are severely outdated. The upper level management have taken a strong stance against inbound marketing—rather ,they have built a business on glorified telemarketing masked as "research."
