Pros

Now that I've recently started a new position due to a relocation with my spouse, I now realize how great things were during my time at Zotec. I really miss being a part of my team, and have nothing but positive things to say. Everyone is outgoing and very friendly. You have to work hard, but people have fun, which I really miss. My new position/company if much more formal/serious so I miss the laid back and more informal environment. Culture is definitely a pro at Zotec, and I really miss so much of what I came to love over the years. If anyone is ever considering a position here, I'm sure it will be a refreshing change and a place you would also really enjoy

Cons

More company sponsored outting and events are always nice :)

Pros

If you are one of the 3 guys that has been there since the beginning, things look like they are pretty nice. You can come to work in your pajamas at 2pm. For everyone else, I didn't see many pros once you start.

Cons

This company will recruit you if they find your resume. They will treat you like a rockstar when you first start. They will give you nice things, sign you up for good benefits. You will then be expected to become an expert on the use of their system EBC in 3 months time, so you will live there the first 3 months, while you are reminded daily you will not be there after 3 months if you don't. You will then work on the next release for 6 months. No matter how much you get done, ridiculous deadlines will be put in front of you weekly. Friday at 1pm you will be told "all of these need to be done before you leave today". You will help deploy the new release, you will work with their imaging centers across the US remotely. You will then do the debugging, they use a standard ticketing system. Finally, you will be brought into a room with a manager and the HR lady, and they will FIRE you. They won't "let you go", they won't lay you off. They will fire you. 5 of us were fired on the same day. We were told our skills didn't accurately reflect what we had represented on our resumes. Your health insurance will end that day, you will have no chance for unemployment, They even tried to short our 2 week pay checks by a whole week for the last week we were there. This place was a nightmare. The 4 other people I was fired with have several other contacts in this industry that have had the same experience with this place, going back 5 years. They pay to have their processing done in India, and they use their office in India for their support developers while they don't have a group of "involuntary temps" in there working on the next release. While I was there, the support developers were treated even worse than we were. They were fired so fast it didn't even make sense to us why they bothered to hire them. I would not advise anyone to accept a job offer from Zotec for any type of programmer or developer position.
