Zotefoams from a graduate perspective
Pros
We are market leaders in the foam industry, and our products are unrivalled in terms of quality and breadth of application. The future looks very good for Zotefoams, as there is a massive scope for increasing sales volumes and market potential through company expansion to increase production volumes. There are many new projects coming through at all times to expand our sales into new application areas, countries, and material replacement - replacing traditionally solid materials with foam materials to decrease weight, increase flexibility and reduce environmental impact. On a personal level, I have been given freedom to work on tasks and projects in my area in a very pleasant working environment and I have felt very at home working for Zotefoams. As part of the graduate scheme I have had the opportunity to learn all aspects of the company from manufacture to customer service, which has allowed me to gain a very broad knowledge base and was the perfect transition from university to working life. Progression opportunities are very good at Zotefoams with most roles being advertised internally before being made public, allowing for internal progression which I believe to be very important.
Cons
We are currently in a massive growth period with large numbers of new staff which can naturally lead to teething issues such as trying to progress projects whilst getting new starters up to speed and trained in our specific areas. Being market leaders with unique products means we have less outside competition than most companies, which I feel can lead to complacency in the continuous improvement aspect of the company. We have so much demand for our product that at times we cannot physically manufacture enough product to meet demands, which can lead to missed opportunities.
