Pros

I love my team at alliantgroup! I joined the company a few months ago and not only is my team awesome, so is everyone that I have come into contact with. It is a very collaborative environment and for every new employee, there are twice as many individuals to learn from.

Cons

I commute to our Houston office on a weekly basis which has been a little draining, but the company really takes care of their employees! Getting your travel booked is so easy too.

Pros

Jolly reviews on here are meant to distract from the truth. All you need to do is search for the alliantgroup Houston Press article. Read it and you'll know what you are getting into at this place. If you choose to ignore it, best of luck!

Cons

Work-life integration is all you need to know. Family and friends come and go, alliantgroup is forever. Disgusting.

Pros

You will meet some solid people: There are a lot of very intelligent and educated people who work here. This is on a team by team basis. If you like the people on your team, you will likely become good friends with them Nice building Good amount of outside work activities planned for morale Pay: this is both a pro and a con. Depending on what level you come in at, the pay is good enough that you'll be alright but not spectacular. A solid first job for most but I doubt you see it as enough for you to want to make alliantgroup a career.

Cons

Do yourself a favor and Google "HoustonPress alliantgroup" before you do anything else. Trust me. Too many hours: the company doesn't have "set" hours. Do not think of this as a 9-5. I showed up everyday around 8:30 and never left before 6:30. Some people stay until 8 or 9 or even show up earlier in the morning.Really ask yourself if you think 50+ hours a week is worth what salary you are offered, you could probably make more doing something else. The free lunch is there so you don't take a lunch break. So you really are at your desk the whole time. You don't get paid based on how much work you do/performance so what's the incentive: do enough to not get fired? The work is not enjoyable. You will stare at your computer screen all day or doing paperwork if you work in R&D. This is not "business consulting" if that's what you think it is. You will listen to clients work history and collect their financial documents and turn it into a tax credit. There's a lot of micromanaging. All your actions will be monitored. Simple tasks will be made more difficult by the amount of hoops you have to jump through to accomplish them. There are several IT and data functions that could be implemented to make everyone's jobs much easier that aren't in place. You will be doing work that doesn't have to be done. The advancement structure is as follows: project associate --> associate --> senior associate --> team director (if you're that fortunate). There's a lot of people with MBA's and PhD's that work here so if you don't have a super impressive resume expect to be locked into your position for awhile. I knew Project Associates who had been there for 4 years.
