Pros

alliantgroup does an amazing job at recruiting incredible people, despite the plethora of terrible review on here... probably because they require their employees to write 5 star review to move up through the company. None-the-less, the people you work with make the 10 hr work day, which typically turns into 12 hrs year-round, and 14+ in the busy season(6 months a year) bearable. I never knew I was capable of staring at a computer screen for 70 hours a week. Thanks, alliantgroup. You will be pushed past where you thought you could go. The metrics and billable hour requirements constantly change to encourage you to push both yourself and your ethics, while simultaneously questioning your self-worth. Thanks, alliantgroup. When you eventually leave this firm (turnover typically occurs around 1-2 years, maybe less if you are brave), you will undoubtedly join a firm where you excel, are highly valued, and treated with respect. Without the lack of respect and value shown to me at alliantgroup, I wouldn't appreciate my new job nearly as much. Thanks, alliantgroup.

Cons

While I was consistently a top performer according to metrics, I never felt like I was valued or "good enough". Just google "alliantgroup lawsuit". There are plenty of credible sources you will trust much more than a random person on glassdoor. I disregarded the negative glassdoor reviews thinking that these people were all just bitter and don't understand hardwork... I was wrong, hopefully this helps you avoid the same mistake. Again, I reiterate... the positive reviews ARE NOT REAL.

Pros

Amazing people (Seriously, you will make some incredible friendships here) great salary for someone right out of college, tax consulting experience.

Cons

Where to start... everything about this place is a nightmare. Prepare to have constant anxiety, there is no such thing as HR, people will literally do ANYTHING to get ahead. You could be the most qualified person in the room for a promotion, but FORGET IT if you aren't willing to sleep around, party, or gossip your way ahead. Any negative press about alliantgroup you've seen? hahaha yeah...all true. You would be asked to "mock" what you would say to clients or CPA's if they asked you any questions about it. I will give it to you alliantgroup, you definitely train your people how to cover up the truth very well. THE MASS /CONSTANT EMAILS: Better get yourself an unlimited data plan, you will be expected to reply to company wide emails (if you don't your manager monitors this and will reprimand you) and if you're on PTO? Yup, you better be checking and respond at lightning speed. But it get's better... I don't know why the free food is consistently under the "Pros" section. This is just a way for you to eat at your desk for 15 minutes and keep working! Also that fancy gym? Forget using that, you will be too exhausted to work out from a 10+ hour workday six months out of the year. FEEDBACK: They love to do this after every call to make sure you're improving, makes sense right? WRONG! Prepare yourself to be picked apart for the most ridiculous things you've ever heard of and be ridiculed in front of multiple people at once. It's common to see people cry, and if you're not a favorite then expect your feedback session to go on even longer. Regarding Hurricane Harvey - going back to what I said abut the amazing people, this really does hold true because I saw all the support from coworkers to one another during this very difficult time. THAT BEING SAID, it is so disheartening to see this company is capitalizing on this event and promote themselves in such a positive light on social media. Seriously, they've made it a huge point to say how much they are donating, volunteering, etc. You should do those things because it's the RIGHT thing to do. Not use it to overshadow all the other terrible things you have done and continue to do.

Pros

Free lunch, amazing training, and awesome coworkers

Cons

Read all the bad reviews and the latest expose is the Houstonpress and then add some things that they didn't mention: * you will watch your friends and anyone you become close with get tortured, be ostracized, ignored, picked on and you will probably see them cry in the bathroom every day until they quit. More than likely though, they will be fired. In 18 months this happened 8 times and each time it was heart wrenching. None of these people were bad employees and all of them had what it took to be an "a" elite. Most of them just had too much integrity and self worth to lie, cheat and steal. *favortism is based on two things - relinquishing your life and soul or letting them sexually objectify you. The CEO throw raves and the elite executives force girls to do sexual sketches. This may seem like I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. You will hear rumors about girls getting text messages from the owner. You won't believe any of it until you see it. When you see it, you will have to decide if a paycheck is worth it. *HR does not care about federal labor laws and protecting employees. They don't even care about protecting the company. They are there to make sure the revolving door keeps revolving fresh meat. Constantly. *they have been sued many times by former employees and they have sued former employees *once you leave, you will never recover fully. This place is every employees worst nightmare. Consider yourself warned
