Pros

So nice to work with a great bunch of people. As an expact with no Portuguese I was delighted to find this company. It has given me the platform to carve myself a career and life here in Portugal. The eearning potential with comissions is great!

Cons

With it being US hours It took me a little while to adapt to the schedule but after a while you are used to it.

Thank you for such a fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that arrivia has provided a welcoming and supportive environment for you. It's wonderful to know we've played a role in helping you carve out a successful career and life there. The strong team culture you mentioned is something we take great pride in. We appreciate your honesty about the initial challenge of adjusting to the U.S. work schedule. Operating in different time zones can definitely take some getting used to. We're happy to hear you've successfully adapted and are now enjoying the benefits, including the commission potential! If there's ever anything we can do to further support you at arrivia, please don't hesitate to reach out to your manager or HR. We're always happy to explore ways to make our international employees feel welcome and valued.

Pros

Fast paced environment that encourages working outside of one's job description. Has structure of a big company while retaining entrepreneurial feel. Invests in a great environment that makes it fun to work. Great travel benefits too!

Cons

Can be daunting for those who aren't self starters willing to roll up the sleeves and learn this complex business.

Pros

The people you work with throughout various departments and teams. I've met lifelong friends at Arrivia, and we've all bonded over the terrible experiences we've had at Arrivia together. Unlimited PTO was nice, but they do not outline any expectations whatsoever, so when your reviews come up they will mention it and use it as a way to decrease your merit increase (which is regularly less than a 1% raise if you even get that).

Cons

Toxic work environment. Every day was a mental toll on your life. Leadership does not care about you and makes it abundantly clear. All of the C-Suite Executives and VPs + all have the same mentality of treating everyone else like scum on their boots. They will bold-face lie to every one about how the company is doing, meanwhile they have layoffs twice a year but still receive their bonuses. They choose who to layoff based on your connections throughout leadership and if those people personally "like" you -- not the quality of your work. Leadership also creates and spreads rumors and gossip to create a sense of fear and chaos. They make knee-jerk reactions which has caused many people to leave. In my short 3 years at Arrivia, I watched over 25+ of my colleagues leave, as it's very apparent that this company is consistently going downhill, losing clients and losing money. As a woman, I watched all of my male colleagues be promoted multiple times, where I was told that I was a disappointment and would regret asking for a promotion for myself. This came after backfilling 3 roles that people had left and I had to absorb, and taking on development teams that worked on major company projects successfully. I once thought that I was the only one having these experiences and figured anyone else who decided to join Arrivia would have a different experience, but I've come to the realization through talking with my former colleagues that they are going through the same things. I highly doubt anything will improve at Arrivia and anyone who attempts to join the company will inevitably leave soon. Also, please know that management regularly begs employees to post great reviews on Glassdoor and other sites, while saying anyone who rates them poorly is just upset and not accurately portraying the company. They do not believe these reviews and will continue to pretend ignorance is bliss and they don't have to improve anything. It is a trend that Leadership continually tries to find faults amongst every single employee but never actually looks at themselves to see what they can improve on. It's always everyone else's fault.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your time at arrivia. It's encouraging to hear that you formed strong connections with your colleagues at arrivia, since building a positive team culture is a priority for us. We take your concerns seriously, especially those related to the work environment and leadership perception. We want every team member to feel valued and supported, and it is unfortunate that you felt otherwise. Your feedback about the impact of decisions and the general atmosphere will be shared with our leadership team for additional review as we continue with ongoing improvements. If you're open to it, we would appreciate the opportunity for a more in-depth conversation to better understand your specific concerns and gather actionable insights so we can get even better. Please feel free to reach out to us at hello@arrivia.com. To provide some additional context on some points you shared, we would like to share that our overall business is strong, profitable, and growing. Client changes, both additions and subtractions, are part of the normal business cycle, as is the rightsizing of our workforce through both hiring and periodic layoffs. Promotions and merit increases occur regularly and are based solely on job performance. What may appear as a knee-jerk reaction is a thoughtful and agile response to quickly changing business conditions. We can certainly improve communications to provide more context to the entire organization as changes occur. Thank you again for your feedback, we wish you the very best in your future endeavors.
