Pros

I enjoyed my co-workers and I really liked some of the products! I thought the product training was great and I really liked my District Manager and Sales Trainer. Also, if you were new and needed help, managers and assistants from other stores were always a phone call away and willing to help.

Cons

I do not like this company! While I think Bare Minerals is a great product, the negatives far outweigh the positives. I never had a good work/life balance due to constant staff shortages. I also thought the week long training was not thorough enough. The Boutique Manager needed to get a grip and stop micro managing the employees!!! Even as an assistant, I felt like I was in handcuffs and never have I seen so many things/variables scrutinized. If it wasn't sales it was AUS or IPT or if it wasn't that it was the stores so called "conversion" statistics. I also couldn't stand the repetitive "chat ins" or the outdated and tedious way of closing the store and factoring the stores numbers. This is 2013 and your DM and Sales Trainer get the exact numbers without us managers having to email the sales figures on a nightly basis. I sensed a very phony friendliness with the Boutique Manager . She would set unrealistic sales goals and expect the staff and I to achieve the goals when her sales were far below everyone else. Then she would smile and act like we were friends and then she would criticize my management style or the way I interacted with customers. I consider this sugarcoating and not dealing with the issues head on. Sugarcoating your criticism does not bode well for boosting the morale of your team. I felt relieved when I left and it seemed like the whole world was lifted from my shoulders.
