Pros

It's very rewarding to help women feel better about the way they look. Good health benefits for full time employees and 401k.

Cons

This company is all over the place and is suffering from a mayor identity crisis. There is lack of communication between corporate and the field. There are members of upper management that are unprofessional, disrespectful and lack knowledge about the industry. Favoritism is rampant and it's very hard to get promoted if the right person doesn't like you. Decisions are made in an arbitrary manner and this includes wages. Field employees are viewed as worker bees.

Pros

Working with a team of highly trained women provides lots of opportunity to learn new make up application and selling strategies. Working at BE you are not shoving product down the customers throat, your showing them how to improve their skin and apply makeup. Nice to work with competent women who want to to help eachother succeed.

Cons

Weekly work schedules are always different and are not given out very far in advance. Very micro managed. Pay is based not on performance but on your previous experience or training in the field of make up and skincare.

Pros

Health Benefits Department coworkes feel your pain.

Cons

There are so many cons with this company. When I initially started I loved working for BE but as time and senior management has changed, things having taken a huge dive for the worse. Getting promoted is the biggest challenge at BE. Every year the rumor goes around that there will be no promotions, but then three months later people will suddenly have title changes. Additionally, when asked what benchmarks exist with regards to being promoted, there is never a straight answer. This becomes extremely frustrating as a long time employee to never know what I need to do to get to the next level.
