Upper management is a JOKE

Pros

Great health insurance for assistant and store manager. Company eats most of the cost when insurance goes up and doesn't pass it on to employees. Decent 401k matching. Pretty good Venus structure for full time management.

Cons

They hire upper management that has no idea what they are doing because of who they know or they were dazzled by a resume. No actual work is put in to make sure who they are hiring is a good fit. It's basically a serrority where you get by on who you know and that can change at the drop of a hat. There is a lot of immaturity due to this and the DM spends a lot of time doing things like buying cars and getting her nails done when she is supposed to be visiting stores. She will also just not show up for scheduled visits and not address it unless you contact her to see if she is still coming. This is a great place to work part time as a college kid but I wouldn't put my future into this company.

Overall good experience

Pros

Work is pretty easy once you know your actual goals. The company truly does care about their customers and the experience provided. Monthly gratis is a plus.

Cons

Beauty advisors in Macy's should have equivalent pay as in the boutiques. Management is very disorganized and is constantly changing. Make sure you're constantly following up with your gratis otherwise you won't receive it. (Mainly the managers fault)

Pros

The training at Bare Escentuals is amazing - One will attend a three day "Beauty Bootcamp" when newly hired, and attend Academy on a quarterly basis. What sets Bare Escentuals apart from other beauty brands is education - we are all about educating the client on product knowledge and application rather than simply applying their makeup.

Cons

Contrary to our mission statement of "We exist to make a positive difference in woman's lives," I feel the culture in our boutique is quite the opposite. With an incredibly gossip-y management team whom is very close knit, this causes an uncomfortable work evironment.
