Pros

BP has several rotation programs for different levels, from fresh graduate to junior managers to future global leader. The company encourages internal rotation even for people who are not in those programs. HIPO moves to their next job every 2-3 years.

Cons

Slow decision making process and not enough collaboration between business units

Pros

BP Trading Organisation (IST) was decent and entrepreneurial. Good benefits and work/life balance. Strong emphasis on regulatory compliance / CSR / diversity aspects. I had a sense of decency about senior management, even while the company was going through a period of tremendous stress following the tragic Deepwater Horizon event in the Gulf of Mexico.

Cons

Massive scale of the trading operations (multiple major trading floors around the world) gave me a sense that the company was hard to manage and led to inefficiencies and inconsistencies in some areas. I also felt that the company was somewhat slow to tackle under-performing staff in some cases.

Pros

- A great place for fresh graduates to start off their career - Plenty of opportunities for people of different backgrounds due to their diversity platform - Some useful benefits you find common with other shared services - Focus groups to help provide feedback to the management regarding their leadership and what employees feel about the company - LRT is nearby

Cons

- Over a long term, don't get your hopes high up as opportunities to move up are quite limited but still a great place to start your career life - "Capped" bonus to a maximum of two months - Environment is rigid, but not as rigid as a typical Malaysian company, still flexible in certain areas
