Pros

Salary and benefits and many good legacy people from Amoco, ARCO and Sohio

Cons

Leadership thinks they know leadership but are not effective. Reinforce this by promoting those like themselves - mainly engineers. Corporate culture fosters and protects "Group Leaders" that play in their own circles and draw large salaries and benefits while at the same time asking for cost reductions from everyone else. They are milking the business for their benefit vs. putting their employees as a primary focus. Great acquisition target in the US for Refining and Marketing businesses. Struggling to find its role and continuing to shrink as the corporation sells pieces for cash.

Pros

modern office. Pay per position is not bad compared to similar functions at other companies around. On the spot bonuses. Internal trainings offered are high standard. Strong brandname

Cons

a lot of movement at the base and difficult to move up. Salary is based on what you negotiate at entry not at worked delivered afterwards, so it might happen somebody who brings much less to the table than you earns more. The kindergarten mentality can really be annoying at times.
