Pros

Good developement program for new graduate hires . Lots of learning opportunities. Leadership is generous with experience and knowledge .

Cons

If you are not from a technical background (engineer, geologist, etc.) you seem to be a bit of a second class citizen both in respect from those around you as well as reward programs.

Pros

Global opportunities available, excellent benefits. Opportunity to work with some really bright and capable people in pockets throughout the organization. After several tough years, beginning in 2005 with the Texas City Refinery accident, senior leadership took the necessary steps to streamline the bureaucracy and address behaviors that led to incorrect priorities and poor decision making. Bright future ahead for the company as the green economy expands.

Cons

Operating units are rarely in desirable living locations, outside of Houston and limited staff in satellite offices (Chicago, L.A., etc.). Salary and clear career path options could be better to retain highly skilled employees outside of the engineering/technical functions.
