Pros

Flex fridays and casual office environment and culture generally live up to warm and fuzzy, good work life balance image, although flex fridays have been taken away from some groups in other areas of the company. Vacation time relatively weak compared to competition, but management in generally flexible if there are family issues that limit your work availability. Salary is reasonable, but much better can be had in industry, new bonus structure is good (if you have a good relationship with your supervisor), disappointing otherwise. Benefits are solid. Worldwide work locations with opportunities for advancement if you toe the company line and keep your opinion to yourself.

Cons

Alot of processes and red tape, trumping common sense more often than not. It's often unclear who is accountable and who makes decisions with constantly shifting management priorities. Too many layers of management that are reorganized and shuffled every 12 to 18 months and regularly roll out non-value adding initiatives that create a ton of work for technical staff, get some manager a promotion, and leave unrealistic expectations for the next manager. Internal job postings are "just for show", new roles and promotion opportunities are largely pre-determined and based on diversity and politics rather than merit. Alot of dead weight across the org charts, with several good people having left recently.

Pros

Work Life Balance, they care about their employees, good not great compensation. Good 1st level leadership,. Overall good company, great company to start career and great company to finish career, not very good to spend your prime.

Cons

Horrible and worthless HR, extremely political and Bureaucratic, horrible upper level management, no direction or strategy. , emphasizes commercial roles instead of technology / engineering roles. You have a commercial person running an energy company that does not understand how oil and gas are produced. Wont pay their employees the market. Does not focus on technology, engineering, or innovation.

Pros

It was a semi easy retail position. This position had its ups and downs, the customers could be great on a good day. When there was a good team present, things could ge accomplished on that particular site. Management changed often, but some mangement team members were assets to the team.

Cons

The politics factor. The PR crap that expect us to project to the customers. Employees were expected to avoid answering questions on the Texas refinery explosion, gas pricing, canopy collapses, and stolen credit card number questions. The usage of secret shoppers and constant new policies are a down fall, when they were unfairly used. Managment would play favorites and the lack of video and audio in managment offices made it hard to prove a case involving management, but they were sure to use these tools when employees were video taped 24/7. Phone call monitoring is also tracked. When we experienced the new internet time clock and automated points system, it was time to go.
