You aren't actually trained on company processes. The accuracy scheduling is terrible, since it won't allow you to schedule enough people at times you know are busy, which puts a huge stress on your team. Supervisors are underpaid, and no amount of support or recognition can balance the amount of strain and stress placed on them. Corporate level management is impossible to get ahold of or get help from. HR is no help, since you can't even schedule your fastest workers who are working hard to get more hours effectively without being yelled at by HR because someone called the alertline saying they didn't get enough hours. Their merchandising style is not helpful for loss prevention, and does not create an easy to shop environment. Worst of all, YOU get in trouble since you aren't allowed to call police even when customers are making death threats or being incredibly sexually aggressive towards your employees. Management is trained into not caring about employees, so even if someone calls in for a few shifts because of a death in the family or something similar, you are forced to write them up. The pay is high for store management, but not worth losing your empathy and integrity for.
