Pros

The culture is great; colleagues are generally pretty supportive. There have traditionally been good opportunities to move around within the business and to move abroad once you have built up enough experience of the core value proposition and its delivery

Cons

Not a lot of formalised structure around training and development, though this may have changed. There seemed to be a lot of re-organising of the business, which unsettled people. Sometimes not a very clear career path, you had to be a bit of a go-getter to find what was out there for you

Pros

Promote work-life balance Decent benefits Bonus plan Open atmosphere, no cube wall Anyone has a voice, regardless of level Very active in the community Full of very smart people Very collaborative environment Really attempt to live their values You not only have to have the skills to work their, but they look for a cultural fit as well Provide opportunities outside of the workplace to build relationships with colleagues Family first mentality Leadership is transparent on what is impacting the company

Cons

Promotion process needs work, leans heavy on personal relationships vs. accomplishments. Also only twice a year, so if your manager misses the submission deadline you have to wait another six months. You also have to press the "reset" buttonwells our chance for promotion if you change teams or get a new manager, which happens frequently. Limited opportunities due to just 7 levels existing in the business Yearly increases sometimes fall short of the US cost of living adjustment fall can fall well short of the benefit package increase, meaning you have less discretionary income each year. Force those at certain levels to be people managers, even bad people managers. No training for those that are bad people managers No opportunity for discussion on pay increases prior to annual review Poor investment and focus on the technologies that support the business Can be pompous and not learn from other's mistakes or from prior failures thinking we can do it better because we are dunnhumby For executive positions, no promotion from within, only hire from the outside A large imbalance of work hours/celebrating successes across teams To much focus on the next new thing vs. making what we do have the most accurate and efficient as possible To much focus on new revenue vs. efficiencies that would lower costs and increase profit Management/leadership seem to have difficulty making/sticking to a decisions We no longer seem to make the tough choice when it's the right thing to do for our customers/clients when it could negatively impact revenue Selective transparency, don't share information on some of the more controversial subjects like pay bands across grade

Pros

Opportunities are there if you work for them. This company really cares about their people and they make a point to reward individuals and the entire company for good work. They have a great culture and good people and the company makes time for social and volunteer opportunities because they are focused on being a great employer and a good community leader. Promotions and salaries are truly tied to meritocracy, which is refreshing.

Cons

You can have a good work life balance here, but you have to make it a focus.
