Pros

The chance to work with smart, passionate people who want to do the right thing for the community of users; good ideas are heard and implemented. There are opportunities to make a difference and push the envelope on innovation given the right managment support.

Cons

The pace is non-stop and expectations about what can be acheived are often unrealistic. Lots of firedrills; always going from one thing to the next. Not a lot of time spent learning or on reflection. Burnout is a big factor. You have to set your own boundaries.

Pros

Free Bagel Wednesdays Free Soda's The eBay name takes you a long way on resumes.

Cons

No management transparency. Secretive about promotions and horrid working conditions. 2-3 people stacked in cubes with no cube walls. Many unspoken rules about how your performance is measured and how promotions are rewarded.

Pros

eBay has a great name, and is still well respected by other companies in terms of experience. The brand and network go a long way. The culture is also really supportive of work-life balance and very family friendly. People in general are friendly, smart and capable, but unfortunately we face other challenges (see below). Also, I really love where eBay came from and our mission statement, though we've strayed from our roots.

Cons

Way too much change in direction, lack of alignment on priorities causes high churn and turnover. Also a lot of politics, with different parts of the company trying to achieve different objectives.
