You're tied to whatever client contract that gets handed to you, and have zero management support. The job I eventually worked on was different than the job I interviewed for. The job was challenging for all the wrong reasons, but also I spoke with my supervisor less than 10 times in the 6 months I worked there. The few 1:1s she didn't cancel, I could hear her cooking in the background. My requests for support, and specifically performance metrics so I knew how to succeed, were ignored. I've never had a manager so apathetic to the job i'm doing, as well as me as a person.
