      Good people, terrible exec direction

      Pros

      The core knowledge base is rock solid, as is the email tool. There are some outstanding people there but they are slowly moving on as the company goes down hill.

      Cons

      Outside of the core software (KB and email) the other tools are only just enough to tick boxes in the Gartner report. It's certainly not a cloud product and Gartner is driving the product direction not eGain. There's no vision and they have put so many restrictive procedures in place that they are tying the PS team in knots. Having left a while ago I stay in contact with some of the people still there and morale is at an all time low. It's very sad as for a couple of years it was an amazing place to work but lack of vision is killing it.

      Pros

      Good product with latest frameworks used, good place to learning, enough work to keep you occupied. Casual Dress code. Friendly people.

      Cons

      Hikes are low. Work 15 hours a day and get hike lower than inflation rate. Management recruiting dumb people and not retaining smart ones. Product company with Management attitude like IT Service Companies. Estimates given to customer without including QA effort which blows up the project them deployed on customer site. And lot more.

      Good product, though niche, has potential, reasonable sales targets, culture ok, experienced sales team members

      Cons

      CEO's autocratic and micro management style, because of it again missed the window of opportunity, competition caught up big time, marketing literacy non existent and 1980's style, lack of vision and strategy
