Pros

Great basic training and reasonable compensation

Cons

Beware of working with eHealth as a Sales Representative !!! This is because a part of the pre-employment process requires you to sign a "Proprietary information and inventions Agreement," which basically states that upon your employment termination with eHealth; be it voluntary or not ! You're not allowed to sell insurance for any of their competitors. Therefore, essentially ending your insurance sales career !! This is downright EVIL !!! So, you are warned !! Don't ever sell insurance for eHealth unless you never intend to leave these demons !!

Thank you for leaving a review. A non-compete agreement is a very common practice in competitive industries, such as ours. eHealth notifies all candidates of our employment contract prior to offering a position. This allows each candidate to evaluate if the non-compete agreement is something they feel comfortable with prior to joining the organization. Should you have specific concerns, please contact HumanResources@ehealth.com.

Pros

Entry-level sales job, Decent industry coaching.

Cons

-Supervisors and managers constantly micromanage. -New directives are framed as being employee-centric and rewarding to good behavior but are punitive in nature. -Managers and Supervisors boast about great pay, but the pay scale is not transparent, changes based on time of year and level of business. -Long hours and low hourly wage -Employee culture is built around "Helping people" but there are rare instances where you can actually help someone. Most of the business is generated through convincing someone to switch their HMO or PPO to another carrier that offers the same amount of coverage or less.

Paid well, I felt like I was helping people

Cons

Unreasonable hours, no vacation, laid me off 1 week before they had to pay my bonus, terrible VPs who fight among themselves, rude executives, shady business practices that were all over the news
