Stay away when they rehire!

Pros

Work remote and pay for some of your internet and cell phone.

Cons

I left before they laid off hundreds a few days ago. Not only are they dishonest with you when they hire you but they are immorally dishonest with the elderly who call in. Anytime I would truly want to help a beneficiary and would ask my supervisor for help she would not only make me feel belittled but she would give me words of advice to just do whatever it took to make a sale. Also you are not selling here 9/10 customers are calling because they got misleading mail or emails or commercials! almost never did I get a call because someone wanted to change their plan. and that is what we did there we just switched someone from one plan to another, sometimes it would be a good switch for them and a lot of times they were already in a good plan but we were pushed to switch them anyways. Calls are pretty constant to new comers because they are all 3rd party calls of people being transferred from a cold call and they push you to try to turn that call into a sale even tho the person doesn’t know what is going on or why they are on the phone. And when your not turning these calls into sales they make you feel like your incompetent. Don’t buy the hype you will make money here. During AEP season I was working 13 hours a day and lucky if I got 4-5 sales my last commission check for aep was less than my car payment! Stay away!!!!! I left this job and I am making triple in salary now.

Saw the layoff coming.....

Pros

Good pay if you work for it

Cons

Saw the massive layoffs coming and quit 2 months before. Business model is very flawed. They were doing much lower in sales then expected due to agents getting paid off of switching current costumers to a different plan (making the company nothing but agents getting commission) instead of rewarding agents with commission when costumers stay with current insurance plan for another year. Marketing was getting more and more unethical. Make no mistake this is a COLD CALLING job. Sure, you sometimes you have call in's/people generally interested but the other times you're getting sworn at because we had called them 10 times in a row. The people that are doing the most sales are either using unethical sales tactics or persuading them to switch when it is not in their benefit. I talked to way too many costumers that got completely screwed by other sales agents. If you have a conscious and care about people having access to affordable healthcare look for another agency or in another sales field entirely.

burn and churn

Pros

Benefits. My team. Nothing else.

Cons

CEO sent an email yesterday saying there would be a mass layoff and we would get an invite if we were affected. Completely heartless and we all freaked out all day. still expected to work until you found out if you were safe or fired and then carry on business as usual. So many managers had no idea what was going on and those who did were busy firing people. People who were fired were still getting pinged for work stuff all day because no one knows who still had a job. No follow up so we didn’t know at the end of day if it was over or not for sure or who in teams outside our own survived. Complete burnout culture. You work nights and weekends, unless you’re a upper management. No direction on longer term goals: throw things at the wall and see what sticks. Higher ups are never held accountable for misses that affect the bottom line and aren’t actually expected to try to help their people improve but first line always blamed for every little thing. After the layoffs, they are saying that we are needed and to keep our heads down and hustle. For what! So we can take on other people’s work they fired with no increase in our pay and loose our jobs if the company goes bankrupt while they don’t have to worry about making rent and will find another job to screw over other employees? No diversity at the top besides some women: all white. If you want to get promoted, you basically have to hope your team has high turnover (likely) and you take on a ton of work. And even then, they have to either be scared to loose you or be one of the obvious favorites and also hope they haven’t promoted too many people recently who do less than you because you’ll get told it wasn’t approved because of budget. Moving managers or orgs often because higher management has no idea how to organize teams or work that last and don’t care if you have 3+ managers in a year but your annual review is still accurate because your boss’s boss who you never talk to alone agrees with the score.
