Company is struggling

Pros

Great place to get your feet wet as a Medicare agent. The company has great health benefits. You can make 6 figures within your first year if you’re willing to work hard for it.

Cons

In early 2021 many people in management left the company within a few weeks, which lowered the environment moral. Managers and employees are not treated well, and being an agent feels like walking on egg shells due to the fact that they are consistently being given conflicting guidance and instructions. One of the directors does not have Medicare telesales experience but yet makes decisions that impact agents, and 2/3 managers for one of eHealth’s regions do not have solid grasp on Medicare knowledge. The company has town halls that put a false positive spin on company issues and fail to address other company issues. Be cautious about the hype. Another con is that there is a lack of career development for agents. To move up, you may have to take a pay cut or grow in an area that isn’t clearly defined.

Pros

The only decent things about eHealth is the health insurance and pay (barely).

Cons

Where do I even begin. The sales practices are outright predatory and unethical. We deal with such a vulnerable demographic of individuals, and the last thing they need is someone trying to wring them dry financially with high-cost plans, especially for those on fixed incomes. The commission structure is BOGUS. Management is constantly looking over your shoulder to push sales. Shift bids are a JOKE, because you will be thrown into a schedule of THEIR preference. I accepted this position thinking that I would have the opportunity to truly appeal to Medicare beneficiaries best interests and find them savings. But in reality, eHealth is just another "wolf in sheep's clothing" sales organization. It's not worth the stress and headache.
