Good Starting Job

Pros

- The culture - everyone I've worked with are awesome. Fun, high-energy, young, and smart. I've made some life-long friends at this company. - Great Location and building! - CEO is super friendly and inspiring

Cons

- Pay! The pay is well below market and that's the reason for the high turnover rate. For an important, high-attention to detail job in operations, I and all my coworkers are paid quite poorly. It doesn't reflect well on management for being okay with this. Lots of good work we do with no compensation for it. - Micromanaging - sometimes it feels like I'm back in high school the way managers can micromanage like we're children. - No advancement - it seems that once you're in a position, you're stuck. No upper managers ever talk to people about honing their skills to move up in the company. The only time that happens is when someone leaves and someone else needs to take their place (which is usually an external hire??).

Pros

It's a great starter job out of college. The people you work with are awesome. Benefits are pretty good compared to most companies.

Cons

Low pay. There is an emphasis on family being a core value, but they don't pay enough for someone to take care of their family. The only people who have families that last at eShipping are those in management positions. Everyone else tries and eventually finds out its not possible and leaves. In the beginning, the talk of upper management sounds awesome. It seems like a place you want to work for a long time, but after a year or two, you realize there is a disconnect from what is said to what actually plays out. Typical corporate feel. Career advancement is almost non existent. The company is not growing fast enough for any management positions to open up (low, mid, or upper). Raises only come with promotions, but those are far and few between. End of year raises are minimal.
